ABOUT CAPAY VALLEY GROWN

Rooted in the Land.
Grown by the Community.

For more than two decades, Capay Valley Grown (CVG) has celebrated the farms, people, and products that make this rural pocket of Northern California so special.

Growing with Purpose.

Founded in 2004, CVG began as a way to unite the many small, family-owned farms of the Capay Valley under one shared identity:  helping farmers market their products, connect with visitors, and tell the story of this region’s deep agricultural roots.

Today, we’re rebuilding that vision with the same spirit of collaboration that defined the original movement. Bringing together farmers, food lovers, and neighbors to strengthen our local food system and ensure the Capay Valley remains a vibrant, sustainable place to live, farm, and visit.

Through shared marketing, farm tours, seasonal events, and education, we continue to champion the high-quality, sustainable products that are Capay Valley Grown -  all while nurturing the connections that make this valley thrive.

What drives Capay Valley Grown isn’t just the land — it’s the people, purpose, and pride that hold this community together.

Every decision, event, and partnership is guided by a few simple beliefs that keep us rooted while we grow.

For the Community, By the Community

Everything we do starts with the people who live and farm here. CVG is run by local volunteers and shaped by the needs of the valley itself — always evolving to reflect what matters most to our neighbors, producers, and supporters.

Pride of Place

This valley is more than geography — it’s identity. CVG exists to represent and celebrate the land and the people who make it what it is. From Yolo County to the Bay Area and beyond, we’re spreading awareness of the Capay Valley’s agricultural heritage and inviting others to experience it firsthand.

Connection Through Transparency

We believe in knowing where your food comes from — and who grows it. Through storytelling, events, and on-farm experiences, we connect farmer and customer, cultivating trust and understanding that strengthen our local food system.

Quality You Can Taste and Trust

The Capay Valley stands for excellence. From heirloom vegetables to heritage meats and handmade goods, our farms share a reputation for integrity, craftsmanship, and care. Together, we’re committed to building recognition for the valley as a place known for high-quality, thoughtfully grown products.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to grow, our roots remain deep — in the soil, in our relationships, and in our shared vision for the future.

Capay Valley Grown is committed to honoring the valley’s history and ensuring that the next generation of farmers and families can thrive here for years to come.
